Today, in Nur-Sultan, the autonomous organization of education "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" for the first time opened the summer school "Uly dala urpagy" for children from Kazakhstan abroad. 150 representatives of the Kazakh diaspora from Russia, Iran, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan arrived in the capital.
The program of the two-week summer school includes the study of the native language, the history of Kazakhstan, the customs and traditions of the Kazakh people. Participants will have excursions to the main sights of Nur-Sultan - EXPO Center, Bayterek, Library of the First President, Triumphal Arch, Azret Sultan Mosque, Astana Ballet, Palace of Peace and Accord, Qazmedia Ortalyqy and other significant objects of the capital. Trips to the state national park “Burabay”, the museum-memorial complex “Algeria”, the archaeological and ethnographic open-air museum “Bozok”, the farm firm “Rodina” and the forest nursery “Akkain” are also planned. An open history lesson “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe” will host in the National museum. children will learn about the history of the Baikonur cosmodrome in “Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary”, at the ethnic memorial complex “Atameken” for young guests prepared a special tour about the sacral symbols of the country. In geography and global perspectives, the main theme will be the significance of the Great Silk road for the Kazakh people. Students are particularly interested in visiting well-known metropolitan universities: Nazarbayev University, Eurasian National University named after L.Gumilev, Agrarian University named after S.Seifulin.
It is planned to conduct master classes on playing national instruments, applied arts, and folk dances, as well as STEM-training in the natural-mathematical direction, robotics, design thinking and training in leadership and public speaking. Detailed research of Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage for children will be helped by NIS projects such as ‘Tugan elge tagzym”, “Kazaktyn 100 æni”, “100 kui”. In the library, overseas guests are waiting for book discoveries that will present one of the main projects of the Intellectual Schools - “100 kitap”. “Hour of National Instruments” will be dedicated to dombra, zhetygen and kobyz, “Hour of national games” - audarispak, togyzkumalak, kyz kuu, asyk atu, arkan tartu, and the festival of national cuisine - the most delicious recipes of Kazakh dastarkhan.
