Visit of the Patriarch of Jerusalem to the National Museum
October 10-11, 2018, the VI Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was held in Astana. Upon the completion of this Congress, on October 11, the National Museum was visited by the Most Blessed Patriarch of Jerusalem and All Palestine Theophilus III.
During the excursion, the Patriarch of Jerusalem was acquainted with the history of the nomads of the great steppe belt of Eurasia – with the heritage of the Scythian-Sarmatian period, covering 1 millennium BC. The heritage of warlike tribes of sakas and sarmatians was reflected in the material and spiritual culture of the Kazakhs.
In the book of honorable guests, Patriarch Theophilus III expressed gratitude for the hospitality, noting that the museum is an encyclopedia of the history and national heritage of the people of Kazakhstan.
