The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 1, 2019 at 15.00 in the Department of Museums of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur opens the exhibition «The Great Steppe: History and Culture» in the exhibition hall. The exhibition will be held from October 1 to October 31, 2019 as part of the international project «The procession of the Golden Man through the world's museums».

The mission of the exhibition is to present the rich historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan to foreign audiences. The symbol of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Golden Man, will be presented at the exhibition.

Today, September 30, 2019, at the Department of Museums of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Kazakhstan scientists gave a lecture as part of the Great Steppe: History and Culture exhibition. The moderator was the director of the Museum of the History of Nature, Dr. Farizavati Binti Sabri. The head of the research and restoration laboratory «The Island of Crimea» Kyrym Altynbekov gave a lecture on the topic «Conservation and restoration of archaeological sites». Also, a lecture was given by Yana Lukpanova, a senior researcher at the West Kazakhstan Center for History and Archeology, «Nomadic Elite of the Great Steppe».

Then a press conference was held on the upcoming exhibition. Representatives of the media of Malaysia took an active part in the press conference. The event was attended by the head of the department of international relations of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulnar Makhmetova, the head of the research and restoration laboratory «Island of Crimea» Kyrym Altynbekov, the senior researcher of the West Kazakhstan Center for History and Archeology Yana Lukpanova and the general director of the Department of Museums of Malaysia Datuk Kamarul Bakharin bin A. Qasim. Senior Researcher Yana Amangeldievna told cognitive things about our story, which penetrates deeply into the roots.

«The reconstruction of the Golden Man in clothes embroidered with gold plaques, in a special conical headdress decorated with gold plates in the form of gold arrows, snow leopards, argali, horses and birds are available at the exhibition. The visitors can also see the collection of archaeological finds from the early Iron Age century (5th-4th centuries BC) that accompanied the burial of this noble Saki young warrior. According to archaeologists, he was 17-18,» reads the release.

After almost half a century, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces an international tour – «The procession of the Altyn Adam through the museums of the world». As part of a large-scale project, the exhibition was held with great success in the museums of Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, China, Poland, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Macedonia and Turkey.

In total, the exhibition features 346 items from the collections of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The masterpieces of ancient and medieval art of Kazakhstan which represented at the exhibition are only a small part of the works of the nameless masters of the past, reflecting the originality of the heritage of the Eurasian steppe culture.
